     J.P. Ehrig Consulting LLC is a forensic architecture and expert witness firm led by John P. Ehrig, FAIA, NCARB, LEED AP. With 50 years of experience in architecture and the construction industry, John Ehrig has built a reputable practice specializing in expert witness services for a variety of clients, including owners, attorneys, architects, and contractors. His work focuses on areas such as the architect’s standard of care, construction defects, and premises liability matters.

     Mr. Ehrig’s extensive background includes roles as a testifying expert in multiple cases across various jurisdictions, with a proven track record of clear, comprehensive forensic reports and effective deposition and trial testimony. As a forensic architect, he leverages decades of hands-on experience in managing the planning, design, and development of major building projects across both the public and private sectors.

     In addition to his forensic expertise, John Ehrig has been a member of the Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design for 16 years, bringing a wealth of knowledge and leadership experience to the Board. He has served an unprecedented four years as Chairman.

     His contributions to the architectural profession were recognized in 1993 when he was inducted into the American Institute of Architects (AIA) - College of Fellows. In 2008, his involvement with the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) led to significant positions on various national committees and task forces, including the NCARB Task Force on Ethics and the 2015 Practice Analysis.  Recently, Mr. Ehrig has authored two Continuing Education Courses for NCARB, titled, “Understanding the Architect’s Standard of Care” and “Pitfalls During Construction Contract Administration”.
